Bioelectricity Community of Practice
Launched in 2016, the Bioenergy Community of Practice provides support and facilitates peer exchange amongst policymakers and experts working to advance bioenergy policies and actions, in their respective LAC countries.
Building upon its inaugural year, the online sessions and in-person workshop in 2017 delved more deeply into bioelectricity investment risks and de-risking measures and in particular, addressing biomass feedstock-specific investment risks in project development. Based on participants’ feedback at the end of 2017, the 2018 focus is centered on designing effective policy and regulatory environments that attract investment in sustainable biogas projects.
