C-ROADS manual

3pm, September 28th, 2015

The Climate Rapid Overview And Decision-support Simulator (C-ROADS) is a computer simulation that helps people understand the long-term climate impacts of policy scenarios to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It allows for the rapid summation of national greenhouse gas reduction pledges in order to show the long-term impact on our climate.

C-ROADS provides a transparent, accessible, real-time decision-support tool that encapsulates the insights of more complex models. The simulator helps decision makers improve their understanding of the planetary system’s responses to changes in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, including CO2 from fossil fuel use, emissions from land use practices, and changes in other greenhouse gasses.

This paper presents an overview of the C-ROADS simulator, with details about its background, uses and technical basis.
