Enhancing capacity for Low Emission Development Strategies (EC-LEDS): distributed generation

4pm, July 22nd, 2015

This webinar covers the basics of distributed generation, with an emphasis on renewable generation technologies and their benefits. It is presented by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), with funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The webinar answers questions about applications of different technologies, financing and management of distributed generation systems, as well as the economic and social benefits.

An example of ongoing EC-LEDS work on distributed generation in the Philippines is presented. A second case study from India is presented, highlighting work being carried out under the US-India Energy Dialogue. The case studies illustrate distributed generation on large and small scales, infrastructure planning and management of generation systems.

Presenters include:

  • John Nangle – Senior Engineer, NREL
  • Nisha Thirumurthy – Senior Analyst, NREL
