Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) training resources

2pm, July 23rd, 2015

The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) provides training to foster and maintain a high-performance workforce to construct, operate, and maintain facilities in an energy-efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective manner. Topics include proven, cutting-edge technologies and business practices to help agencies meet their energy, water, and sustainability goals dictated by federal laws and requirements.

FEMP is part of the US Department of Energy (DOE). With more than 350,000 buildings and 600,000 road vehicles, the federal government is the US’ largest energy consumer. Federal agencies have a tremendous opportunity and an obligation to reduce energy, water, and petroleum use, as well as greenhouse gas emissions in their operations. FEMP provides agencies with the information, tools, and assistance they need to meet and track their energy-related requirements and goals.

Training resources include e-Training courses, seminars and workshops. Training covers the following topics:

  • Audits, commissioning, and retuning
  • Building management systems
  • Contracting and finance
  • Energy efficient products and technologies
  • Energy management
  • Fleet management
  • Labs and data centers
  • Laws and requirements
  • Operations and maintenance
  • Renewable energy
  • Sustainability and institutional change
  • Water use reduction

FEMP is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and awards IACET continuing education units (CEUs) upon the successful completion of select courses.
