Modeling and Policy Impact Analysis (MPIA) program models
3pm, October 01st, 2015
Modeling and Policy Impact Analysis (MPIA) program models assist developing country researchers in constructing models of their national economy to simulate the impact of macroeconomic shocks/policies on various dimensions of poverty and welfare. It applies a combination of macro-micro modeling and simulation techniques including, for the macroeconomic level approach, a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) framework.
Key questions addressed:
- What are the distributive impacts of various growth strategies and their economic impact at the macro-scale and household-scale?
- What is the impact of shocks and policies on the national economy and the welfare of an individual household?
Sample data inputs:
- Economic data at the macro and household level
Sample quantitative outputs:
- Impact of macroeconomic shocks/policies on various dimensions of poverty and welfare
