Transportation and climate change clearinghouse

9am, October 05th, 2015

The US Department of Transportation (USDOT) Transportation and climate change clearinghouse provides resources that describe methodologies for analyzing greenhouse gases from transportation, and contains research assessing the limitations in current analytical tools and data.

There are a variety of tools and methods available to transportation practitioners for analyzing, measuring, and projecting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. These include tools and methods to estimate energy consumption and GHG emissions for purposes of inventory development and for quantifying the effects of transportation programs, projects, technologies, or strategies. Results are often used to help guide policy and planning decisions aimed at emission reductions.

Assessments of available models and analytical tools can be used to compare greenhouse gas measurement methods and analytical approaches.
