Resource guide The Finance Working Group has developed an Resource guide to NDC finance that helps members easily find relevant resources for specific low emission development strategies (LEDS) finance topics. The guide presents a curated selection of resources on a range of topics around finance for Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and LEDS. It is designed to help NDC and LEDS practitioners find high quality resources that meet their specific needs, avoiding time consuming web searching. It will be useful to individuals working on, or interested in, NDC and LEDS finance in both developed and developing countries. Access the guide here. Webinars In June 2016 the Climate Policy Initiative presented a webinar on financing NDCs providing some answers to the following questions: What are the sources for financing NDCs? What are the most effective policies and instruments to spur investments? How can practitioners get things moving on the ground? The webinar and related resources can be found here.
- NDC and LEDS finance: helping countries develop robust and implementable approaches to raise finance for their NDCs and LEDS, through training, webinars, access to knowledge products, and peer learning and exchange.
- Private sector engagement: identifying ways to increase the private sector’s engagement and investment in LEDS through specific early mover projects which create and disseminate new knowledge and best practice.
- Facilitating access to finance resources: helping members to navigate the huge amount of information and resources on LEDS finance topic by developing a curated set of finance resources that is easy and efficient to use.
Though the LEDS GP’s Remote Expert Assistance on LEDS (REAL) service, the Finance Working Group supports requests from developing country LEDS teams, including government agencies and consultants, technical institutions, and NGOs that are working directly with country governments to plan and implement their LEDS. The Finance Working Group can provide targeted support on finance issues to governments upon request, for up to 40 hours of an expert’s time. In particular the Finance Working Group can offer support on: developing LEDS finance plans; identifying and developing ‘bankable’ projects such as nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs); and understanding and accessing international climate finance including the Green Climate Fund.
