Collection of anonymized personal data when visiting our website
For statistical purposes and to improve our service, this website uses the open source technology Matomo On-Premise to analyze user behavior. Matomo is self-hosted on this website. Matomo collects information about user behavior on the site, including the shortened and anonymized IP address of the device being used. On our server, the information is anonymized and stored for the purpose of analyzing user behavior and improving our service. The state of current technology ensures that once information has been anonymized, it can no longer be traced back to the originating device or connection. Information thus collected is shared only with the internally operated server. It is never shared with third parties, including the InnoCraft, the creators and maintainers of Matomo.
The following information is stored for each page you view and each file you download:
- Technical details of the browser used
- Anonymous IP address
- Date and time
- Page opened/name of the file downloaded
- Quantity of data transferred
- Notification of whether viewing or download was successful
The LEDS Global Partnership and GIZ evaluate usage information for statistical purposes as part of the LEDS Global Partnership’s public relations work and for the needs-based provision of information within the scope of the tasks it performs (legal basis: Article 6 (1) e GDPR in conjunction with Article 3 BDSG).
Objection to data processing
Users who do not agree with the processing of the completely anonymous data about their visit can opt out of the processing data at any time with a click of the mouse. This data will no longer be collected in future. You can do so either by activating the “Do Not Track” function of your browser, of by deactivating the field below. Please note that the second option sets a so-called “opt-out cookie” that tells Matomo not to collect any data about your visit. If you delete this cookie, you will have to opt out again.
You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.
To make that choice, please click below to receive an opt-out cookie.

At least the email address but also any other personal user data transmitted with the email (e.g. family and given name, address) as well as the information contained in the email are stored solely for the purpose of contacting the user and processing the request.
When contacting us by letter, the personal data transmitted (e.g. family and given name, address) and the information contained in the letter is stored for the purpose of establishing contact and processing the enquiry.
The legal basis for the processing of data in connection with email communication or communication by letter is Article 6 (1) e GDPR.

Processing of personal data in connection to the LEDS Global Partnership’s social media presence
On its website, the LEDS Global Partnership invites users to visit its company presence on social networking sites and platforms including, but not limited to, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Facebook.
These online presences are operated in order to interact with the users that are active on these sites and platforms and to inform them about projects and services. By clicking on a social network’s logo, the user is redirected to the LEDS Global Partnership’s presence on the respective network.
When users visit the platforms, personal data is collected, used and stored by the operators of the respective social network, but not by the LEDS Global Partnership and GIZ. This is also the case even if the users themselves do not have an account with the respective social network.
The individual data processing operations and their scope differ depending on the operator of the respective social network. The LEDS GP or GIZ have no influence on the collection of data or its further use by the social network operators. We are not fully aware of the extent to which, where and for how long the data is stored; to what extent the networks comply with existing obligations regarding erasure; what analyses are conducted and links established with the data; and to whom the data is disclosed.
