BioPower tool webinar presentation

11am, July 22nd, 2015

This webinar demonstrates uses for the biopower tool, an interactive geospatial application allowing users to view biomass resources, infrastructure, and other relevant information, as well as query the data and conduct initial screening analyses.

The screening tool, created by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is based on a Google Earth application that allows users to select a location on a map and then estimate potential quantities of biomass generated within a user-defined radius. BioPower is a web 2.0 mapping application that allows users to explore the potential of biomass-to-power conversions at different locations and scales. Initial funding for the tool was provided by US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy, added liquid fuels data and enhanced analysis capability.
