Inclusive and resilient urban development – Resilient Cities webinar

10am, February 17th, 2016

The rapid rate of urban growth and proliferation of informal settlements in highly vulnerable locations adds to the complexity of urban resilience and adaptation, especially in cities struggling to reduce poverty and increase economic growth. This webinar, from the Resilient Cities webinar series from ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, focuses on examples and lessons learned from working with residents living in informal settlements/slums with the aim of reducing their vulnerability to disasters and including them in the urban resilience plans. It sheds light on successful approaches on how to directly include slum dwellers in resilience planning and implementation from data collection to participatory livelihoods projects.
