Low Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) toolkit and framework

3pm, October 09th, 2015

The Low Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) toolkit provides information on available datasets, studies, tools, and other technical resources to support the LEDS process.

The customized search boxes below allow a user to search tools and programs in relation to relevant questions, sector, geography, LEDS methodology stage, analytical needs, and other search terms. The country cloud also allows a user to search easily for resources and programs in a specific country. The inventory of tools and programs is user-generated and users are encouraged to upload and edit additional content.

LEDS framework

The primary purpose of the LEDS framework is to support the creation of country-driven, analytically rigorous low emission development strategies (LEDS). LEDS will enable countries to transition to low carbon economic development resulting in sustained growth in employment and investment, increased financial flows through carbon markets, reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and other social, economic, and environmental benefits. As communicated in the Copenhagen Accord, development priorities of partner countries will remain paramount in the evaluation of opportunities through LEDS.
